Transilvania University of Brasov (UNITBV) is one of the oldest universities from the center of Romania. During its 75 years of existence, Transilvania University of Brașov has developed into a truly prestigious institution both at a national and international level.The UNITBV have more than 20000 students and 750 professors and researchers gathered in 18 faculties related with the forestry, human, social, medicine and engineering topics. The mission of UNITBV is the production and transfer of knowledge to the society by means of initial training at bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees, advanced scientific research, development, innovation and technological transfer. In addition, the mission of UNITBV envisages the organisation of postgraduate programmes and enhancing the interaction between the University and the society through partnerships in compliance with the principles of a knowledge-based society.
Sacele County Hospital (Spitalul Municipal Sacele SMS) is a good example of a public hospital that is fully committed to providing high quality medical services to its community. Located near Brasov, in the heart of Romania, this hospital has become an invaluable asset to the people it serves. It's no surprise that the hospital has quickly become a trusted institution since it was reopened in 2017 after six years of non-activity due to governmental organisation. This hospital caters to a community of over 80,000 people, including the 40,000 residents of Sacele city and another 40,000 people from surrounding areas.The Administrative Department manages more than 1.5 million euros each year, including 1 million euros earmarked for investments. Hospital Universitario de Gran Canaria Dr Negrín (HUGCDN) is one of the biggest hospital infrastructure in Spain and Europe; it has 200,000 square meters constructed area, controlled by a Building Management System with 35.000 control points and a automated robotic transport inside for moving goods and meals. HUGCDN includes also 50.000 sq.m. in others small hospitals and Specialised CareCentres, and it serves to 350.000 inhabitants. HUGCDN has 4.100 employees, and an annual budget of 312 million €, and has reached the EFQM 400+ Certification on Excellence in Management in 2019. HUGCDN is a 100% public central tertiary-level hospital, with highly specialised staff and technical equipment, and university teaching activities in medicine. It offers specialized services in the Canary Islands Healthcare Service. HUGCDN is a reference Hospital for Heart Transplant, Oncology and Radiotherapy, or Cellular and Genetic Therapy for treatment of Leukemia. From the point of view of Infrastructure and Engineering, HUGCDN from 1999 is one of the most modern and technically advanced hospitals in Spain, and a standard for hospital designs during the following years. HUGCDN has aprox. 35.000 automatised control points through a Building Management System, the first Hospital automated robotic transport in Spain (from 1999 it was the first and only during 10 years), a 12 MW Electrical Power Plant, and a 10 MW Cooling Power Plant, Pneumatic transport for used linen, and a dedicated pneumatic transport for samples and documents, among other facilities. Hospital Universitario de Gran Canaria Dr Negrín, through the Engineering Department, has an agreement with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) to develop 2 projects Interreg MAC, about Healthcare Innovation and medical devices for using in countries without budget and technical support. During 2022 it is planned the opening of a MIT Healthcare Innovation Centre at the HUGCDN, to be connected in a network with the other 4 now running.
TURKIYE
The Manisa Celal Bayar University, is a large organisation with over 2883 individuals working together to run and maintain its operations. The administrative staff comprises 1160 personnel, while the academic staff is composed of 1723 members. Additionally, the institution employs seven foreigners under an agreement. The primary goal of our university is to provide an excellent education to our 55,000 students. Among these, we have 652 international students who hail from 48 different countries as of the year 2016. We aim to promote student exchange programs, enabling students to receive two diplomas, which aligns with our overarching objective of supporting internationalisation. The institution is committed to upholding high educational and research standards, taking into account the increasing globalisation and the educational expectations of modern society. Hafza Sultan Hospital belongs to the university and this hospital combines the services of a hospital with the education of medical students and with medical research. The university hospital is a nonprofit, 622-bed tertiary medical center. It has 15 operation room, Emergency Department, pathology, biochemistry, microbiology and genetic laboratories. Radiology department has diagnostic mammography, computed tomography, ultrasonography/colordoppler, DEXA scan, Pet-CT, interventional radiology unit. These diagnostic facilities are digitalized. The hospital also has oncology and chemotherapy center, endoscopy center, IVF (in vitrofertilization), cardio-pulmonary rehabilitation unit and many technologic devices and equipment.
