The Intensive training programme in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria is organized trough the project Smart Healthcare Engineering (2023-1-RO01-KA220-HED-000159985) and is addressed to students of UNITBV, ULPGC and MCBU that want to improve their knowledge in healthcare engineering. The intensive course will last for 12 days with one class per day (including the weekend) and will be held between 08.07.2024 and 19.07.2024.
The transport from the home institution to Las Palmas de Gran Canaria will be ensured by each university. Moreover, each participant will receive a daily allowance for accommodation and meal. At the end of the programmed each student will receive a participation diploma and 4 ECTS credits. The proposed classes for the intensive training program focus on failures, corrosion, and other engineering problems, and the specialists will present them various solution options, indications, and management strategies. During the ITP, students will revise the main installations at Dr Negrin Hospital from Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and will participate at practical activities in a "real" environment where patients are being treated, requiring timely solutions that do not compromise medical treatment or patient comfort. Another essential component of the ITP will focus on effective communication with the administrative/maintenance staff and medical staff of the hospital. During the program, each student will receive the basic training material that will provide the theoretical basis necessary to understand healthcare installations and to participate in the identification and repair process (for those who participate in the practical part of the course). The courses will be held in English by professors and experts from Romania, Spain and Turkia. Each day, a new course will be taken with theoretical bases, practical application and evaluation of each participant skills. Daily, after the training session the participants will be free to have individual or common activities with the group, sightseeing, visiting the islands and so on. Basic instructions, safety regulations, and other safety issues will be presented in the mother tongue of each participant. Safety is a top priority, and all participants will sign a learning agreement for traineeship that outlines the ITP program, their tasks, the skills and competences they will acquire, and the monitoring and evaluation plan. |
